Tree Pose

Trees are our best friends: they give us the oxygen we need, and we give them back the carbon dioxide they need.

Tree Pose

Affirmation:

"I still my mind. I stand tall and strong."

Instructions

  • Start in Mountain Pose.
  • Bend your right knee and place your right foot against the inside of your left leg.
  • Bring your hands to your chest in Namaste, then raise your arms up above your head. Stretch them out wide, like the branches of a tree.
  • Imagine you are a tall tree with deep roots.
  • Balance for three breaths in and out.
  • Repeat on the other side.

Benefits

Tree pose improves focus and concentration, and strengthens the shoulders and legs.
